The staff lead a group stretch. Seeing all these people
together was moving. Everyone was a little nervous but so pumped up. |

Out of the convention center and down the street. The
walkers had to start the walk two by two to fit on the side walk. It took
over 90 minutes to get all 4,400 walkers out of the convention center and on
the street. With the front walkers moving between 3 and 4 miles an hour, by
the time the last walker left the convention center, the first walkers were
4 to 6 miles out. It was something to see the 6 mile line of walkers. |

Port-A-Potty central!! There were stops about every two
miles. This was a good thing, because Katie was drinking liquid like it was
going out of style. They had so many Port-A-Potties that the line was never
more then about five people deep. |

Lunch in Menlo Park. Each of the pit stops and grab-and-goes
had a theme. There was medical, ocean, cowboy/ranch, Alice in Walkerland,
... themes to make the walkers smile and laugh. |
