The last day!!! Only twenty more mile to go. IT is foggy and windy, but the walk must go on.

It just got foggier, windier and colder through the night. Again, can you find the big white tent?

From Skyline College they went up highway 35, along the cliffs to Fort Funston. Then down onto the Great Highway and up to Golden Gate Park.

Lunch in the Park. Katie pushed all morning to get to lunch by noon. This would give her an hour for lunch and rest and then have three hours to do the last 6 miles.

Katie and Four member of the San Jose Police Bicycle Squad. About 20 or thirty members of the squad volunteered to ride the entire 60 miles with the walkers. They helped  with traffic when needed and just looked after the walkers. Katie says THANK YOU!!

All professional Athletes have pit crews. Katie had Team Schrempp; Barbara, Katie and Bob. "I would not have been able to do it as easily if mom and Bob had not been here. Bob met me at all the stops and meals. Mom was there in the evenings. Thank you both", Katie.

From the holding area they walked five blocks to the Marina Green in San Francisco. They were cheering and waving to all the people in the houses, 4,400 walkers and 400 crew.
